Zharoel Ankhta

Character name: Zharoel Ankhta

Character Profile: Zharoel is a giant of a creature, standing taller than even a wookie, and behind the feral appearance, there is a powerful calculating mind. Many decades of isolation and distance from his own species has molded Zharoel into some what of an observer. He records all of what he sees and scribes his own thoughts on his experiences within the archives of his ship. In person Zharoel comes across as silent and curious type, yet at the same time exudes an aura of wisdom and internal strenght. He generally tries not to mingle with others and stays to the shadows, giving many the impression that he is somewhat of a sociopath. When he chooses to converse with other sentients he expresses a great knowledge of galactic lore taken from his own experiences and observations. Inside, Zharoel burns the fanatic lust for physical and mental superiority that is common to his caste. In battle Zharoel fights with a burning fury and tenacity. A warrior at heart, Zharoel seeks to harness and control the full potential of his latent psychic abilities as well as combat technique.

Morally, Zharoel has no sense of ‘good’ or ‘evil’. He believes that strength lies in power that must by augmented by knowledge, simply chooses the course that ensures his survival and brings him closer his goal.

Character History: Zharoel’s early history centers greatly around the society of his race. His long-lived race (the oldest recorded actually lived to be slightly over 1000 years old; but this is considered an oddity, the race typically lives to about 700 standard years old) is unknown to most denizens of the galaxy that is native to the planet Umoja, located deep in the Unknown Regions near the galactic barrier. While possessing their own unique, but extremely advanced technology, his people follow a strict isolationist policy; the species only inhabits their native system a have only two minor colonies. Society is organized into a very static caste system that individuals fall into based on the physical and mental characteristics as well as the occupation they are naturally inclined to. The entire race is naturally psychic, they have no vocals chords, in fact they have no mouths or any ability to create sound, and have adapted to be strong telepaths, able to communicate words, emotions and feelings. Ever since a violent civil war that lasted for centuries on end, before the caste system developed, to stop the war, the race gradually formed a semi-collective mental link that united the entire race, however they sacrificed much of their individuality. Those that rebel against the collective are branded as heretics by the ruling caste and are either hunted down or exiled.

Zharoel was sired by a family of a labor caste that specialized in mining, the Furinax. Early on Zharoel exhibited potent mental abilities and as a result from his the features of his parent’s caste, above average physical strength (compared to his race’s rather weak physique). Overtime, Zharoel showed discontent with the caste of his parents and often practiced tried to train his own mind and body in the image of the great warrior heroes of old (considered very dangerous by his kind). After much observation by the warrior caste, at age 43, Zharoel was inducted into the Templar caste. As a squire Zharoel was tutored in the lore of his race, as a lesson of the horrors that can be awarded, and while an eager student, Zharoel’s fanatical passion lay with becoming a full-fledged warrior of the Templar. It was at on of the Templar gatherings of competition of all the various tribes that set Zharoel on his chosen path. It was great High Templar that could channel the mental energies into vast psychic storms that could shred any being’s mind to nothing, nor the Illusionist-Assasins that could force hallucinations into the mind’s of others and could distort light to hide their presence, nor the incredibly powerful cybernetic warriors that wielded powerful ranged weaponry and had strength that the masses couldn’t fathom. It was the arbitrators, the warriors that could focus their energies through amplification crystals to project mental strength into visible psi-blade. The masters of both body and mind.

However, during the few decades spent in training, mostly spent studying lore, insurrection grew yet again against the collective. The ruling caste struck with unyielding force, but to avoid the bloodshed of the Great Civil War, gave the option of exile or death. However, the rulers couldn’t control all of the citizens, thousands took up arms against the rogue tribes. Zharoel’s own tribe, the Khali, was one of the exiled. Rather than stay to face the slaughter, Zharoel with the permission of Templar comrades, reluctantly commandeered a ship and left the witch-hunt behind. One a scant hundreds to escape

For years Zharoel hopped from planet to planet, civilization to civilization before he heard rumors of psi-talented individuals, “jedi” and “sith” the natives called them. Zharoel made his way towards the core-systems, one system at a time, recording all he observed. It was by pure chance that Zharoel made acquaintance the of a jedi on a mid-rim world. He was frustrated to find that these jedi relied on the force, a concept unknown to his race, yet he hoped that the skills both “psi-schools” were interrelated. Yet the Jedi was reluctant to teach anything to Zharoel. The Jedi had stated that Zharoel’s fanatical passion and emotion would lead to corruption and the darkside, another alien concept to Zharoel, the Templar relied on emotion to fuel their mental strength.

Zharoel set out in search of others who felt the same as him. But the Sith, which Zharoel considered the enlightened of the force-users, were elusive and no trace could be found. At the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Zharoel was horrified at the jedi purges conducted by the revealed Sith and went into hiding in fear of his own life. Throughout the years of the Empire, Zharoel took refuge on Geonosis in the aftermath of the battle, the Genosian’s tolerated his presence in return for information from the technology databases of his ship. In return, Zharoel started in own training on the hostile planet. After the fall of the Empire and the Sith, Zharoel was demoralized by the loss of potential teachers, yet kept hope and is searching for a teacher, one who can help him become a full Templar.

Just as a side not, Zharoel is 183 standard years old. Relative to humans, he would in his early adult years.

Character Motivations: In a caste based society, the warrior class is especially revered and held in high honor. Yet the honor of becoming a full warrior traditionally takes many intense years of training, training that was denied to Zharoel.

Character Skills: Basic combat skills (some Templar, but mostly self taught); able to communicate words, feelings, and emotions telepathically; knowledge of computers and technology,

Why should we accept you: Zharoel could be considered a loremaster on history and culture and has documents on technology and cultures that many have never heard of that could contribute greatly to the Sith. Throughout his journy Zharoel has also been able to get hold of many artifacts now considered very rare, included are items that date back to the Old Republic and Clone War Era. Zharoel’s own natural psychic ability could widen understanding of both the force and other psi-talented species, perhaps a connection between the two could be found and open new options those that a gifted with strong mental powers.

Roleplaying example: At this moment there is no thread this character is currently in. I was hoping however, that Zharoel could encounter a Sith while he performs maintenance of his ship.

I have however, post in the OOC forum concerning to oddities of the race I have chosen.

Thanks a bunch. Uh, I have a question. How does the master/apprentice thing work?

Generaly A master will take an apprentice, or two or three( I think Je'gan had a total of 3-5 at sometime or another, before the reset). A master may make a OOC thread asking if anyone would want to become his apprentice and then would be worked out IC.
