Figured this was neat enough to show off (aren't they all? ;))
Got this yesterday for $250. It's a Kel Tec P32. It'll be my backup and/or summer weather conceal carry pistol. I put a few items next to it in the pic for size reference:

The guy in your avatar isn't. :D But nice facial expression. And good actor, too....
Seriously, however: The mousepad apparently looked rather bland before; the doodles give it a nice touch. I like it. :D

I've heard some mixed stuff about them, but the vast majority is positive. Nothing about jamming. The biggest issues with it are that the recoil is very intense (because its a tiny gun) and the slide will probably wear out after 13,000 shots (like I'd ever do that)

If you'd wake up for range day this wouldn't be a problem. You could always dab some Hoppes #9 and Cosmoline on the nape of your neck :love

Very nice collection ... I like the SKS, its a good round.
I havent shot the Kel Tec .25, so it might not have the same problem as the gun I was shooting, though like you said the recoil is going to be a bit rough.

A good 8mm Mauser would be nice.
A friend of mine had one, it was fun. Though my shoulder hurt the next morning because he wouldnt take the steel plate off the back.

I browsed a few Lugers at the show, but nothing seriously. The one I wanted was around $1,300 or so

I'm not quite interested in a K98 just yet. Maybe after I drop 500 on a CMP Garand, I might.

Oh and this doesn't even count all of the hand-me-downs and gifts I've gotten, which in turn would run over two thousand dollars as well.
Three Remington 1100 series shotguns
Marlin 1892 30-30
Gladius
Lots of ammo, books, cleaning supplies, etc.

The P32 I didn't much like. It wasn't the kickback - that was hardly an issue for me as I was surprised by the lack thereof - so much as it was the inability to really aim. I know it isn't exactly the kind of gun one uses for sharpshooting, but still.
The AK is still my favorite by far though. I enjoy it much more than the Beretta carbine. The SKS was alot of fun too, as was the Neos (but that's always a fun one to play with).

Yes, but no real details have been hammered out. We are trying to find a firing range within New Orleans.
Alabama concealed carry holds reciprocity with Louisiana, so I can carry all the way down and back :cool

You're just lucky guns are cheaper over there, lol. Damn California.
AK's are fun as are SKS'
Do they make the XD in a .45? I think they do, but I can't remember for sure.
I also need to go shooting again, it's been awhile. Though I've been modifying my M14, much fun.

It's not that guns are cheaper here, so much as it is we don't ban things left and right for no good reason. Your state sucks and the sooner it falls into the Pacific Ocean, the better. Leave while you can.
They don't currently make an XD in .45...the highest you can get it is .40 S&W. If you want a .45, just get a 1911 :) I should be getting one within a month or so

Just about any 1911 maker worth their salt makes a 1911 longslide. Not as long as the comedy option we saw at the show, but plenty long enough. Look into Springfield Armory, Kimber, or Para-Ordinance. They're all good middle-of-the-road manufacturers, and you should be able to get a decent one for $700 to $800, give or take.
