Holy crap, you totally blindsided me! What a random and completely awesome thing to do!

So today I find a thick envelope in the mail, apparently from the United Kingdom. Fearing a trap, had my dog smell it for signs of anthrax or syntex.

Convinced it was not death, I opened it up to find the biggest suprise I have had in a long time:

Discworld Noir. That's right bitches, an interactive video game from Terry Pratchett :cool

I really have no idea what I've done to deserve this, and I am quite honestly flabbergasted.

Thank you Jenny! :love

So you lied? You really didn't like the anthrax I got you?

Very nice work, Jenny! That's just like the present I bought Christin a few years ago... and then prompty never sent to her. You just see something that's perfect for someone else...

Oh, and the present I got/lost for Christin is actually nothing like Discworld Noir.

What is this crazy game you people speak of?

Discworld Noir. It's like every Noir cliché, from every Noir movie, rolled into one... only set on the Discworld. You're a private eye, hired by a busty broad to investigate a murder... and the plots unfolds (and unravels) from there! :D

the first disc world was awesome, this one must be hilarious.

I can only imagine how sweet that game is, considering I jsut picked up The Art of Discworld.

I'll actually have to read one of the books one of these days.

This one has a much darker, drier sense of humour than the first two. It also moves away from the cartoon-y feel, since that obviously wouldn't fit the Noir theme. IMO, the Ahnk-Morpork of Discworld Noir looks pretty spot on to how I imagine the city being in the books.

The game is sweet - lots of fun, and everything is really detailed. It's much tougher than your average point and click, too, I found. You really do have to think about the problems inventively.

I wish i still had that game, but I took it back to the shop when it had a glitch whenever I tried to use my notebook. I loved the things the character said when you clicked on things such as clicking on the coffee machine and he'd say "Nothing like a cup of coffee to make me jittery and paranoid."
