Kieran Devaneaux

The Devaneaux family of Reydovan Prime dates back four thousand years to the Mandalorian Wars. The fragmentary information on the first Kieran Devaneaux was found in the ancient Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, and other information (particularly pertaining to Artimus) came both from earlier Jedi records and the personal accounting of Artimus' son Kieran, Padawan to the Jedi Knight Navaria Tarkin.
Kieran Elias Devaneaux (I) (Jedi Master and Republic Army General)
Time: Mandalorian Wars, 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire
Homeworld: Deralia
The first Devaneaux to take the name Kieran was born on Deralia, in the Outer Rim - not far from what would become the Devaneaux family's stronghold, Reydovan Prime. He was a Jedi Guardian who trained his way through the ranks of the Order, rising to the rank of Jedi Knight. Against the wishes of the Council, however, he followed two Jedi Knights, the accursed Revan and Malak, into the Mandalorian Wars, becoming a General of Republic troops. After the war's conclusion, Revan vanished and Kieran was exiled from the Order, never to return....or so they (the Council and Kieran himself) thought. For ten years, he wandered the galaxy...until fate called him back to serve.
The first Kieran became a Jedi Master, and assisted in the reconstruction of the Jedi Order following the Jedi Civil War, and set up a tradition of Devaneauxs in the Jedi Order. But he did not survive to see the next generation start their training - he contracted a horrific genetic blood disease and, despite the healing techniques he had relearned, died in horrific agony. He was buried in a simple ceremony on Reydovan Prime.
Based on his example, the Devaneaux family continued their tradition of sending Jedi to Coruscant for training until the destruction of the Order during the rise of Emperor Palpatine. The family hid on their homeworld of Reydovan Prime until Palpatine was destroyed by his own pupil, Darth Vader.
Artimus Lucanus Devaneaux (Former Jedi Padawan, now Sith Apprentice)
Time: Twenty years after the defeat of Emperor Palpatine/Present
Homeworld: Coruscant
After Palpatine's defeat and the rise of a new Jedi Order, another long-hidden Devaneaux came for training, but he did not last long in the Jedi Order. A man of Artimus Devaneaux's temperment and mindset should never have even been considered for Jedi training, much less accepted.
Artimus was born on Coruscant - a change from all who came before him, who were born on the family's homeworld of Reydovan Prime. An ambitious, self-centered and horrifically cruel man, he used his Jedi power for evil, and, like the man who he named his son for, was exiled...but he did not make any attempt to make amends. He conquered his homeworld and held it with an iron fist for fifteen years, until he was deposed by his son Kieran - just as the concussion missiles were fired at the evil dictator's palace. Artimus has recently re-emerged in the presence of his son on Coruscant, and has been sighted along the Outer Rim at least four times since he revealed himself to the amnesiac Kieran.
Artimus is much like his son Kieran in appearance, with white hair and a scar across his right eye, which is blind - just like Kieran himself. It is said Kieran and Artimus exchanged blows during their heated battle seven years earlier, blinding each other in the same eye. After the battle had concluded, Artimus broke into the first Kieran Devaneaux's tomb on Reydovan Prime and stole the viridian-bladed saber staff that had been used to reunify the Jedi Order. The deranged Artimus thought that it would be a sense of cruel irony that a lightsaber once used to preserve the Jedi Order would be used later in its destruction...
Seven years after their fateful encounter, Artimus and Kieran rediscovered one another, and Artimus has been hunting for his son for the last several weeks. Deciding he required more training to truly be his son's equal, Artimus travelled to Corellia to apply for Sith training, and was accepted almost on the spot. According to records, the Sith master mentalist Je'gan Olra'en is overseeing Artimus' training, but the exact nature remains hidden from public knowledge.
Artimus captured the New Republic Star Destroyer Skyrider after battling his son and the Republic Navy, on its way to Mon Calamari. Kieran escaped, but so did Artimus - with several thousand Republic records, all pertaining to fleet movements Kieran was involved in.
Artimus Devaneaux is on Corellia.
Kieran Elias Devaneaux (II) (Jedi Padawan and Republic Navy Captain)
Time: Present
Homeworld: Reydovan Prime
Kieran Devaneaux is a lot calmer and compassionate than his insane father, but is also a man without a past. At 23, he is older than many of his fellow Padawans, who tend to be in their early teens. Like his ancestor, Kieran is also a military officer, but the Jedi Order today seems to be much more lenient with allowing military service for Jedi - another example is the noted Admiral Lion El'Jonson, a fellow Padawan.
Kieran was stricken with amnesia following the bombing of his father's palace during an overthrow of the oppressive dictator's rule. He spent nearly seven years on various freighters before finally arriving on Coruscant. He asked for both Jedi training AND military service, and both accepted him. Commanding the Defender Star Destroyer Skyrider and assisting the Mon Cal and Republic Engineering crews to design the Republic class Star Destroyer, Kieran wishes to make amends for his father's evil and the tainting of his family name by proving himself in the ranks of the Order. He has regained some knowledge of his past - including, at last, where his homeworld is - from visions he receives as he trains.
Kieran Devaneaux is currently on Coruscant, waiting for the order to return to the fleet with the new NRV Republic.
