Marino's record is as good as done. Manning has 3 more TD passes in the first half vs Detroit, all to Brandon Stokely. These guys are simply disgusting to watch, and by disgusting I mean amazing.

And another TD! 4 TDs for Manning at half time!
Cyrel Annat
Nov 25th, 2004, 02:51:03 PM
6 TDs on the day, which brings his total up to 41 against 7 INTs with 5 games left. He can break the record left-handed now. And as a fantasy player, I do so love the way that the ball is NOT spread to all receivers. Edgerrin was the packhorse to move the ball so the TDs could be scored by Harrison and Stokley. Thankfully, the guy I'm playing this week benched Stokley so only him playing Harrison can kick my butt around. I'd be done as dinner if he started Stokley, too.

Peyton could have had more TDs too if they did not let him rest in the 4th quarter, putting in J. Sorgi. It all slowed down after that move. Basically, it was 6 TDs in 3 quarters, amazing. I have the feeling he would have scored 8 if they let him go on.

Another humiliating loss at the hands of the Colts. With all the hype surrounding this team, they had better win the AFC or they will never hear the end of it.

Does anyone here have enough morbid curiosity to watch the Chicago/Dallas game? Do yourself a favor and run.. RUN FAR FAR AWAY! Its just punt.. punt.. punt. Its not even good defense, just terrible offense on both sides. The torturing snooze fest is reaching stratospheric levels, so much that I am puzzled how I managed to stay awake for so long. If you dont hear from me for the remainder of the night, its because I fell asleep.

lol me too. Too boring games actually. About the Colts, they will make the playoff, but with their defense there is no way they can beat either New England or Pittsburg. I don't see them going very deep.

They can if Manning stays on fire, like he is right now. He's the key to the Colts success in the postseason. If he keeps up his current level of play for the rest of the season, they can win in January. But, if he has an off game once the playoffs start, they'll be done for. In that respect, he has yet another parallel to Marino, in that his team's chances completely hinge upon his play.
That said... I do agree that Pittsburg and New England look like favorites to play for the AFC title.

I don't know New England really shut him down last year. The Colts defense is irratic much like KC's last year. And since they will not have home field. I can't see them going into Pittsburg or New England and winning.

I personally think the Colts will need to pray that New England and Pittsburgh drop a few more. The only way they will go deep into the playoffs will be at home.

Agreed. If the Colts have to play a cold outdoor game in January, I seriously doubt their chances.

And New England and Pitt's schedules are pretty easy from here on out with Pitt having a game against Jacksonville away and New England playing the Jet's away. They both play Baltimore at home tho...

Pats got a huge break with Lewis being out. Their run defense hasn't been great lately so with Lewis out they can focus more on Boller. If the game was at the Ravens I would be more worried but at Foxboro without Lewis the Pats should win it.
Looking at all their remaining games the Pats should win out, doesn't mean they will but they should.

As good as Manning has been, the Steelers and Pats are so strong that it's going to take a perfect game for the Colts to get past either one of them in the playoffs. Odds are, they'd have to beat BOTH of those teams on the road to make it to the Superbowl. I just can't see how Manning and company can get past both those defenses in January. Last year Manning was playing just as well as he is now in the playoffs. Then the Colts went to NE and the Pats defense mugged the Colts receivers up and down the field, the refs swallowed their whistles, and that threw the timing of the entire offense off. Even if the game is called tighter this year. I can't see how the Colts can beat two 15-1 or 14-2 teams. Manning is going to have a memorable season, but I just can't see how it's going to end in the Superbowl.

What a mess in Foxboro! In more ways than one, the Ravens looked terrible. Poor Boller probably wishes he was a bowler today.

The Ravens had less than 30 yds of offense in the second half and only 3 first downs. They're good, but they're a second tier AFC team right now behind the Pats and Steelers.
In other news, Martin Gramatica was found beaten and stomped on board the Bucs team plane. Tampa police could find no witnesses to the beating. FRIGGIN' GRAMATICA! He missed all 3 of his FG attempts today (I could care less that one of them was blocked) and has missed 7 of his last 9. Way to blow the game putz. I hope he's making moving plans because he won't be kicking in Tampa Bay next year. :cry

Makes you wonder what has happened to the guy. A few years ago, he was considered among the best kickers in the league. Now, he looks like he couldn't hit field goal if the uprights were twice as a far apart. I agree with you, though... his days in Tampa are over. He'll get another chance somewhere else, but if he continues to have issues, his career will probably be over.

Whoo Pats rule! I still say they're the best team in the league. It took them missing 2 or 3 of their best players and a bad day all around for the Steelers to beat them, if they meet again you can be sure Belechick won't be beat twice.
As for the Colts, a lot of fun to watch but like someone said above the odds of them beating both NE and Pittsburgh on the road is too much. The Pats have the better offense so I would give them the nod over the Steelers, as a whole their offense isn't great and if the Colts scored a few early TD's on them then Big Ben may have trouble throwing them back into the game.
As for the Ravens....ouch, they got man-handled. Boller has been great the past few weeks but his lack of a running game and a good receiving threat killed him, after watching what the Pats did to him in the 4th quarter I definetly feel for the guy.
Dolphins...when a win is really a loss, now the 49ers are en route to the #1 pick!
How bout them Bills? Playing some very good football now, seeing McGahee run makes me wish the Pats took a chance on him last year and just let him sit.
JMK
Nov 29th, 2004, 10:17:58 AM
I agree. I still think the Pats are easily the best team in the NFL, even though they have matching records with 2 other teams. They just do everything so well, always just enough to win.
As far as the Dolphins winning, yeah, it was sort of a loss. But I don't mind taking the number 2 guy because if Miami had #1, they would definetly blow it on a dud like the Chargers did with Leaf. At least now they have an excuse; 'well our #1 pick sucks because we didn't get our guy, he went #1 overall.' :p
I fully expect the Steelers and Colts to fold down the stretch, especially the Colts in the playoffs. Once Big Ben loses a game, it will be very interesting to see how he responds to it. A big part of winning is knowing how to come back from defeat, and with a rookie QB it may be difficult at that time of the year.
I think in the pitiful NFC, the Eagles will choke in the NFC title game to the Pack. Just a gut feeling.
