View Full Version : Can I get an updated group planet holdings list?

Darth Viscera

Morg and I are going to start working on a new swfans galactic map, and in order for me to start color-coding it for group planets I need an updated list of every group's planet holdings. Can you guys hook me up?

Edit: Beta Revision 1 of the map is up
http://panicked.org/webmap1/

Here's the map we're modifying for swfans:
http://www.nav-computer.com/galaxymap.html

You will tell us the names and locations of your systems in the following manner. Deviation from this template will result in loss of esophagus:

System Name:
Location:

If your made-up planet has a favorite bird, a culture, a government, a favorite color, please save that information for another thread. All we need in this thread is system name and location.

Crollia: RPing into TSO is this a spelling error of Corellia?

No. Crollia and Soronia are baren rocks and aren't suitable for colonization. We figure they were just floating satelites in the outter areas of the Corellian system utilized for look-out stations and/or penal mine colonies.

Hmm... the Unknown Regions are a lot smaller than I thought they'd be. I know there are several other RPers who were planning to put systems there, including me. Is that little snatch of real estate on a "first come, first served" basis, or are the Regions bigger than they appear? (Anyway, if the area's all partitioned out already, it's hardly unknown.)

Oh yeah--and, I've been wondering, how long does it take to travel in the SW galaxy? There aren't many clues from the movies. For instance, how long would it take to get from Coruscant to Corellia, or from Coruscant to Nal Hutta, on an average-performance civilian ship? On a military capital ship? On the Millennium Falcon?

Darth Viscera
Mar 27th, 2004, 09:44:55 AM
If you're looking for transit times for an Imperial Star Destroyer, it seems to be about 1 month to travel a distance equal to the radius of the galaxy. So you're looking at a 2 month journey from Anoth to Bonadan, which takes you clear from one side of the galaxy to the other. That's if you extrapolate using X-Wing Alliance as a source.

Empress Teta system is in the deep core region on the map.

Xazor Elessar

The way that Verse and I have always played it out (it being Eden) is that it is located in the outer rim -- it's pretty far away from anything. If I saw a map, I could pinpoint where it's assumed to be.

If you need more information about the planet itself, I can PM someone with that info. Visc or Morg, if you want me to, let me know. :)

The Unknown regoins is still several thousands of light years across. There's room for hundreds of star systems and still not get anywhere near crowded. Hell, you only have to jump one light year away from Corusant and the chances of being found are zero. The Galaxies really are made up of a huge amount of nothing, even towards the core.

Figrin D'an
Mar 27th, 2004, 05:47:45 PM
Keep in mind, too, that a label on the map isn't just indicating a single planet... it's representative of an entire system. The Coruscant system, for example, has at least one other habitable planet. Many systems have more than one habitable world, they merely are named for the most prominent planet in that system.

There's plenty of open space to play with.

Khar / Over from Adumar above and between Ankus and Ilum
Ignias / Below Csilla towards Ilum about half way between them.
Auroria / Above and to the left of Csilla towards the galactic edge.

These would be nice to have. I wont ask you to map all 28 colony systems. seing as I only have the names of 19 of them I couldnt. These are the main ones and the ones I intend on useing down the line in Rping.

Well, by guesstimation reconing, Nehantish is halfway between Annaj and Sump in the Mid Rim.

It is not along any trade routes, and there's nothing else in the area. There might be one habitable planet in the area besides Nehantish, but really they dont have any neighbors, and the planet was not introduced to the rest of the universe until abotu thirty years ago. It might have been logged on starmaps as existing, but since it is mainly a desert world, nobody ever stopped by before or did a real exploration.

Now known for skilled mechanics, glasswares and its oil exports, Nehantish is known in its area, but hardly anybody still goes there unless they have reason to. But many male Nehantites can be found on various freighters and cruisers as live-on-board mechanics and technicians.

Also, you must obtain permission before landing on the surface, or maintaining orbit of Nehantish.

The Acamar System: Independent--basically an NPC world. Chances are it's got some sort of agreement with the Imps, seeing as it's awfully close to the Sovereignty. The Acamars are a medium-tech species with plenty of mineral and manufacturing exports.

Kuwaruk Re is a large asteroid in the Acamar system with several mining colonies on it. It's rumored to have vast and valuable mineral resources in its core, but those rumors have never been confirmed.

These are the 12 habitable worlds within the Cizerack-controlled Carshoulis cluster that the Pride occupies. They range from heavily urban to light agrarian

Carshoulis Prime
Carshoulis VI
Rotarsis
Behladue
Syragor
Tanisyeer
Shadonn
Paltinnian
Taltimant
Fey'Dann
Idantis
Keppaa Brens

The planet Calan lies at the perimeter of the Carshoulis cluster, and is considered by the Pride to belong to the Cizerack, although the planet is currently contested territory with the native population and the New Republic.

The cluster is relatively tiny though, occupying an area equivalent to maybe 3 or 4 solar systems. Its a small, densely populated area of space. I don't know how to fit all of that onto a galactic map, so really the only planets worth mentioning would be Carshoulis Prime, and maybe Calan.

I dunno if making an insert would be practical or what.

Hilari: Agricultural world with garden cities in the northern hemisphere. The system lies on the edge of the Inner Rim near Moorja near the Rimma Trade Route.

Trebizond: One large city on a barren planet. The system is in wild space on the Hydian Way.

Freughte: Has an orbital military installation and repair yard, it lies near Bespin toward the Ablajek Sector.

Yssiri: Forested planet interspersed with desert, the system is close to Riflor.

All systems are under full Sovereignty control.

Its a star cluster. Everything is amalgamated into a mass of planetary bodies. You wouldn't really be able to differentiate distinct solar systems, as some planets overlap their orbitals.

The Veil Sector (http://www.nehantish.com/Veil_sector.jpg)

Ker-plunk. Aranio and the Veil located. I'm pretty sure that's where Rhea was talking about; if you have any bone to pick, Rhea, let me know. You can shrink the scale if you're running out of room. This does, however, wipe out part of the huge UNKNOWN REGIONS label. Of course, it seems it's becoming more and more known every day. :P

The Veil--Independent, not available

The Veil is inhabited by the Fyrokkians, a feral, catlike species. Following the bombardment of their homeworld by imperial forces before the Battle of Yavin, they divided along clan lines. The five ruling clans, Ramanuja, Padmakar, Samudra, Kusagra, and Narayana, now function as separate political entities, but they rarely venture outside nebular space. There are seven star systems in the Veil, but, in the interest of space, I have included only two on this map.

Fyrokkir--the Fyrokkian homeworld. Terran world, devastated by imperial bombardment. Now governed by the Samudra clan.

Vairaja--Capital world of the Ramanuja clan and the location of Redclaw Station.

I plan to cover the Fyrokkians in much more depth in an info thread once I get back from Portugal. They will be introduced in the storytelling thread Behind the Veil (http://69.56.186.201/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34460).

As for the Hawk Pirates, they're a nonpolitical entity--they're just a profound hazard to shipping in the region. They're Rhea's creation, mainly for plot device purposes.

Incidentally, the map is looking great so far. I like how you can zoom in by quadrant. Many congratifications.

Ok, let me see...

could someone post the link to this map? I think it should be made into a sticky thread when its done and it can be edited and will stay on that sticky

...I hope I'm not expected to divulge the NR's sector holdings, last canon check I made listed somewhere in the realm of 1,000 sectors, with anywhere from 50-250 planets per sector. :lol

I'd appreciate if you could add the planet Caliban in the Kathos Sector, close to Exocron. I'd like it listed as under the ownership of the Deathwing, Lion's personal army and the survivors from his home planet. If you can't do that because the Deathwing isn't an official group (just a piece of character fluff), could it just be added to the map, minus the group listing? The nebula emissions would block anybody (bar the Aing-Tii) from locating it.

Two other questions:

1.) I've checked a couple of times, but I don't want to make a fool out of myself: Is Kuat now owned by the New Republic? I'd think so, given the number of Star Destroyer-influenced ship designs popping up, but I'd like confirmation. Likewise for Fondor and Bilbringi.

2.) Do we have any Mistryl Shadowguards RPing at SWFans? If so, I think it'd be necessary to add Emberlene to the map. Since nobody knows its precise location (save Jorj Car'das), I'd assume it's somewhere in the Outer Rim, Wild Space, or the Unknown Regions.

Thanks. :)

Kuat AFAIK was the actual capaital planet of the NR until Coruscant was 'liberated' and we what we do now. Bibringi I think was a Scorpion holding, drawn into the NR before the reset. Fondor... I seem to recall that was TSE, so that's by default nulled.

Just to warn you Lion, Exocron is pretty close to Federacy space. If you plan on putting a lone planet nearby, it might be at risk :)

Trebizond is on th edge of Wild Space.

Hilari is next to Ison and along the Ison trade Corridor

Xyquine is in the Core

Varonat is next to Ison (other side from Hilari)

The Empire also owns several planets in the Bastion/Braxant Sector, formerly the Imperial Remnant composing Yaga Minor, Bastion, and Dubrillion.

When I did the write-ups for TSO's planets page, None of my books even mentioned Dennaskar. I ended up doing a search on Google and the only record I found of it that said anything about it was a Fan Fiction page that had a story based on the planet. Other than that I couldn't find any info on the planet.

Dennaskar
The location of a secret Santhe/Sienar Technologies laboratory. Santhe/Sienar was rumored to have developed a prototype cloaking device at this facility. [SWAJ]

http://www.angelfire.com/tn/jedicouncil2/planetd2.html

The info I found on it was that it was indeed a part of the SW universe, first mentioned in the Star Wars Adventure Journal issues 1-7 (edited by Peter Schweighofer, West End Games 1994-95).

Aside from that, it's a mystery and a half as i'm still trying to find it's location. And without actually seeing/reading the Journals, I won't have a clue as to where it is in the SW universe.

I just found this, translated from french to english with babelfish

Horus
n.p (UE) - Bruise from Jedi
System planetaire
Together of 6 known planets:Korriban , Ziost , Khar Shian , Khar Delba , Rhelg , Ch' Hodos the Horus system includes/understands also both Nova Denarii .

I'm still looking for better info to confirm it.

I found another place that names Korriban, Khar Delba, Koros Major, Khar Shian, Rhelg, Ziost, & Ch'hodos as part of the same system.

(Alright Lil I changed the name of the planet but heres the summary)

Koran is a lush forest planet still in its earlier stages of development. The wild, unhindered forests are home to thousands of new, undiscovered species evolved for the planet's conditions. They are divided into 2 continents and are separated by a large, warm ocean. The sea floor is abundant with volcanic activity, resulting in a warmer temperature of about 90* average. The land is mostly forests with little or no underbrush, due to the unique ability of the trees. The tall, fairly narrow trees reach about 500 feet tall and 15 feet wide during their adult years. The special thing about the trees is when they're seeds are released and plant into the ground, they secrete a chamical which kills all plants except for the trees, creating a very empty forest floor with high branches. As the land is closer to the water, however, the land changes to a rocky beach from the volcanic lava hardening on the shore.

The life on Koran has been quickly evolving and the main 2 species are the Narok and the Koranio. The Narok, or "Night Rocks", are large, powerful, and agressive. The live mostly underground in hunting "clans". They are nocturnal and climb the trees at night to attack unsuspecting tree dwelling animals. The Koranio, however, are smaller, quicker, and more solitary. Their intelligence is more advanced then the Norak's, and they are able to create wooden spears and crude homes in the trees. They are known as "Tree Guardians" and fend off the Norak during the night.

The little red + marks the location of Xaav'n, the planet I referred to in the threads to set up my mercenary alliance. Its an Ice World, so of course, we used it to establish an alliance called "Flamestar". Clever, huh?

It might count as independant, but we'll be using it as our base of operations.

Edit:
*performs a Jedi mind trick on everyone* You did not just hear me tell you where my base was...shhh! Its a secret
