Consistency is a good thing. [SWF] [In Progess]

Question: Should this thread be stickied?

Also, as ppl start posting their "to-do's" in here, I'll start adding them to the first post so as to make it easy to find later.

This topic, <a href=showthread.php?s=&threadid=24480>link</a>, should probably be updated somewhat and written by a current member of the staff rather than a former member.

Got it. I updated a bunch of stuff Mark wrote before that was more obnoxious than it needed to be.

Yeah, that's a good call. I was thinking about that earlier. Good to know that others were already on the same wavelength.

Thanks everyone for being so on the ball about this stuff. I'm sure we're gonna get many things smoothed out and working swimmingly. :)

October

Promotions: I have been pretty impressed lately by Terran Starek. I would add him to the list of possible candidates for Jedi Knight.

Website update: Much needed. This one, I will handle..

* I am awaiting the full update of the Temple Access list (due end of this month?), then I will compile a list of active members with ranks, links to biographies and everything.

* The GJO FAQ page will be updated in accordance with the discussions in this forum. Changes to be uploaded here:
http://thegjo.com/faq.htm

* Layout changes and some other ideas I have. IE, some kind of login, where staff can post news and other Jedi related info

Btw, signature hosting is still available for all members, just give me a call whenever needed. I believe Morgan has FTP access also

Temple access list should be an ongoing thing, at least that is how I intended it to be, but it looks fairly complete as far as updating the website is concerned.

And if you need some assistance with setting that up I can always help out. I've got a pretty good handle on notepad. ;)

How much webspace is allocated for sigs?

and

Would it be possible to give the FTP info to the other admins?

Would it be possible to give the FTP info to the other admins? Yes, that would indeed be possible. As long as you know how to use FTP, I see no reason why not. A decent FTP client like smart FTP or similar is recommended. You could then upload sigs and other graphics. If you know some basic HTML, you would also have direct control over website updates as well, layout etc.

FTP client... check...
Knowledge of FTP... check...
Knowledge of HMTL... check...

Most of the webpage stuff, I would probably leave to you and Morg. I'm decent with HTML code, but my graphics design abilties leave much to be desired. I'm well-versed on FTP, though.

Looks good, Morgan :)

I only mentioned smartFTP because it is one of the more popular clients around and its a free download. LeechFTP is also being widely used. Personally, I use CuteFTP. Thats what I have been using for 4 years now. For setting up my own locally hosted FTP server, I use GuildFTP, but concider converting to Serv-U.

Figrin, I have sent you the account details. Check your Inbox.

- Padawan promotions: Lion, Pierce [Marcus], Sejah (up to Fig's discretion) [Ryla] [Was this ever completed?]

Lion - has quit the Jedi to devote time to the NR.
Pierce- Yes
Fig - errr... not yet. When Sejah says he's ready.

Just as a note to our friendly neighborhood uber-admin, the Council Members list on the GJO main page needs to be updated per the results of the latest election.

:)
