This might be an interesting thread. It will probably flounder thanks to Hasbro's irrational distribution system, but it's worth a try. Post any item you've recently added to your collection. It can be anything; toys, patches, stickers, posters, etc. Anything that you've added to your SW collection.

I Didn't even know they had figures of all those guys....damn Hasbro. I doubt anything will be added to my collection for a while, my gears have shifted towards my comic book and G.I.Joe collection. Speaking of Joe I'm getting a very cool 3ft long vehicle soon, MISB that I'm going to put away for a little while then open up and build....should be fun.

Well, I'm an opener so I say free those babies! It all depends on how you're going to display them. The new packaging does lend itself to display. If you take them out they have a tendency to take up more shelf space. You can always put them back in the packaging later. Remember, this stuff isn't going to provide for your retirement so don't worry about losing "value" if you open anything. Especially the 12" Sith 2 pack, those are gathering dust at my local TRU. Don't get me wrong, they look great, but this isn't going to be a rare item. So I say open and enjoy!

Vintage ROTJ Jabba The Hutt Playset w/box.
I just got the Jabba in the mail today. I picked it up in an ebay auction and I got a pretty good price on it ($35 after shipping). I heard that some Wuher's started showing up at clearance. Congrats, $1.97 is much better than what the Fan Club was selling them for. I still haven't spotted Aprentice Maul, but he'll show up eventually. It's good to see some stuff is finally starting to show up.

Congrats!
Eb, on the spreadsheet I sent you last night, the fonts I used were the ones used in the packaging, or at least close, so while you might not have the fonts as I named em, the main font was supposed to the the vintage Kenner font, the Abadi MT Condensed is the font from the POTF2 packaging, Baker Signet was the font from the back of the Ep1 packaging, and the other font (the name I forgot) was close to the POTJ stuff.
That's just in case the fonts look wrong on your system, which they might. :)

I don't have any signed figures but they do seem like great pieces to have in your collection. I'd never buy anything signed though. The possibility of getting rippped off is too great. But if I could get the card signed in person the way you did, that'd be awesome.

I have two Star Wars signed pieces... both of them are signed by Kenny Baker, and I watched him sign the 12-back Artoo I had as a kid, and a friend got a "gadgets" Artoo signed for me.. and the sigs match! :)
I also have a 3D collector's plate signed by the art team of Batman Beyond. I was in the Glendale Galleria buying a Millenium Falcon on clearance last year when I happened to see the WB studio store closing for a "special event". That was fun...

I was pretty jazzed to get that figure signed. I wish I could've found an extra Porkins, Aurra Sing, C-3PO, Greedo and a whole slew of others. Most of the actors @ AlphaCon we from the SW movies. It would've been expensive for all those signatures, but it wouuld've been worth it. OT- the girl who played Aurra Sing is devastatingly beautiful if person.

Carbon Freezing Chamber
I ordered it online Wednesday morning and it just arrived today. The Fan Club is getting these out very quickly. Some people close to the distribution center in Texas even got them the next day. The box was slightly bent because of the manner in which it was packaged. I don't mind that much because I'll be opening mine, but some of you mint in box folk might want to think twice and wait until Wizards gets the hang of how to ship this item.
The display picture on the box is great. Brings back memories of vintage packaging. I'll probably try to get it out of the box tonight if I have some extra time.

Board members get an advance Obi-Wan that can accept an EL Blade for 145+20shipping. The EL Graflex replicas are going for 125+20Shipping.
The EL Blade is an acrylic blade that lights up and produces the glow affect very well. Viperforce has worked really hard on these and they sale for 95 to board members.

This wave has been hitting K-Marts all over the country. Kewtol was the only one left by the time I found the wave. :-the void-spider land speeder tx-3 ( issue date 5-12-75 drawn by T.A ) comes from the Tunisia location
can ANYONE help me get a value put on these please???i need to know if there is a website i can goto to get info because if they are worth abit i will have to put them in my insurance contract just in case the house burns down,,,lol

The plans you refer to (sorry :) )are part of a set of six or seven that came out in 1977 or 1978. I'll have to look for mine. I just moved so Lord only knows which box they're hiding in. I think some of the other bluprints were for part of the Blockade Runner corridor and I think there's one for the Death Star Detention center. I can look tonight & get back to you tomorrow morning. I have no idea how much they're worth. I'm sure they're worth more as a set though. I bought mine about 7 or 8 years ago for something like $5.95.
Anyhoo, my newest acqusitions are Jedi Training Qui-Gon, Cold Weather Obi-Wan, sandtrooper, dirty biker scout and the Carbon Freezing Chamber.

This was in the brand new army builder assortment. There were plenty of blue Coruscant Guards and Gungan Warriors. I even saw some Mon Calamari Officers as well. This is one of the better case assortments Hasbro has put out. I saw it at 2 different WalMarts. The Biker Scouts were the ones who were selling out fast so look out for this wave if you need him.

Tie Interceptor
Picked it up at TRU yesterday. Unlike the B-Wing packaging, this ship can't be seen in all its glory without taking it out of the packaging. The wings are a nice improvement over the vintage stickers. But damn if my tie pilot doesn't have the wobbliest head of any SW figure yet made. Oh well, the ship makes up for it. $30 is pretty steep for a ship with no electronics that was partly made with vintage molds but this hobby isn't cheap, just fun.

I picked up Shmi and Jedi Training Obi-Wan earlier this week. I still haven't found the Vader wave. We won't be seeing the Tie Bomber or Snowspeeder this year. They've been pushed back until 2002. I'm not sure why Hasbro would push them that far back. You'd think they'd want X-Mas to help push both of these.
QuiGonJ
Sep 27th, 2001, 11:26:06 PM
I'd have to say it's probably cause all of the sudden getting stuff shipped here from China is a lot harder.
My interceptor arrived today, and as best I can see it from my Sansweet's SW Action Figure Archive book, it really is the vintage mold with a nice paint job. The tabs you refer to, are they the ones in the back?
Jedieb
Sep 28th, 2001, 09:12:21 AM
Yep, they're these little clear plastic tabs that prevent the Interceptor from standing with its wing tips straight up in the air. I've got a vintage Interceptor also and some of the molds are definitely the same. But the new wing detail is a great improvement. I also picked up your little R2 ornament last weekend. I got the Mystery Machine for my 3 year old. There goes $30 bucks on two items that will only see the light of day during the holiday season! Actually, I'll probably keep R2 on a shelf next to my Vader and Yoda ornaments.

I'm all caught up on these now. I'm considering going after the foreign EP1 Palm Talkers, but I think I'll just stick to these. Rumor has it we may be seeing a Bounty Hunters wave way down the line so I'll just wait for those.

Even had a chance yesterday to get the prototype, but I didn't have $100 to spare. It was cute, off-color and had a pikachu chip in it for the sound. They also had a 3PO for another $100.
So, I got that, an FX-7 and the Leia and Amanaman as Xmas presents.

The end of POTJ:
BoShek
Teebo
R4-M9
Despite what others may say, I like Boshek. The figure looks good and the helmet is a nice touch. M9 looks awesome and comes with a mouse droid. The only problem with Teebo is that he's just one of many Ewoks we should have seen by now. We'll get more eventually, but this really has been a species Haasbro has neglected. The only remaining POTJ product is the store exclusive Snowspeeder and Tie Bomber. Both of those are SUPPOSE to come out before the first wave of AOTC figures. I know the Snowspeeder is a WalMart exclusive, I think the Tie Bomber may be one as well.

I LOVE WALMART WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING!!!!!!
This morning I scored the following:
Basics Figures
Yoda - Jedi Master
Anakin - Hanger Duel
Zam Wessel - Bounty Hunter
2x Clone Trooper (Red Stripe)
Deluxe Figures
Mace Windu (w/Blast Apart Battle Droid)
Jango Fett (w/Electronic Backpack and Snap On Armor)
Christopher Lee (w/Force Flipping Action)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (w/Force Flipping Action)
What’s even better is that the cashier was getting so rattled because she had to manually enter the figures (most WalMart stores will register the figures as a No Sale Allowed) that she only rang me up for 4 Basic Figures. I basically got that extra Clone Trooper for free!
I’M EVIL, EVIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLL!!!

I've seen multiple Dooku's at my TRU, but I don't think I've seen him at any WalMart's. If you're trying TRU you might want to ask a manager or a stockperson what days their trucks come in. Usually, a TRU will get 2 trucks in every week. Mine gets deliveries every Tues. & Fri. The fact that I know this is kind of scary, isn't it?
If I thought these were still going to be scarce months from now I'd pick some up for you guys. Trust me, eventually you'll find him. Just be patient. :)

I've always been meaning to ask you Jedieb, but how big is the room you keep all of your Star Wars stuff in? I'm stuck in my bedroom which is 8"x11", and it became super cluttered very quickly. I've removed about 60% of my Star Wars toys from my room and boxed them up. I wish I (we) had taken pictures of our stuff and posted them. That would have been cool. However, I guess I'll have to wait until I get my pwn place so I can dedicate a room to it.
And on to my new stuff:

When my wife and I bought our current home the previous owner was using the finished basement as her bedroom. The room she use to use as her walk in closet is now my SW room. It's about 8' by 10'. I've got a carded wall and then 3 walls with nothing but shelves and toys. Then in the middle of the room I've got 2 metal shelves where I keep mostly Legos and some vehicles. Right now I'm trying to build a little shelf to display my loose AOTC figures. The room is a mess, but I might take some pics so we can start a "Show your collection thread."
JMK
May 10th, 2002, 09:56:25 PM
:lol Your walk in closet is about the size of my bedroom! :lol
I gotta get out of here...:x
It would be a while before I could get any nice pics of my collection.
Your collection must be getting close to the size and scope of Steve Sansweet's? ;)
Did you ever hear about when the Dodgers acquired Kevin Brown, they literally threw in $1000's upon $1000's of dollars in SW collectibles. I thought that was really unfair. Here's a guy who just got a $100 million dollar contract and needs a dump truck full of toys to cement the deal.
Jedieb
May 10th, 2002, 10:26:10 PM
Yet another reason to hate Kevin Brown! :mad
Everybody in my house sleeps upstairs and the basement is now basically a restroom. But the next time I knock my wife up we're probably going to be forced into the basement. All my toys are going to have to be boxed up. Oh, the horror, the horror... :(
My collection really isn't that big. Lot's of guys have collections the same size and lots of SWFans have much bigger ones. For me, it's just the right size.... oh bull, I wish it was twice as big!
JMK
May 10th, 2002, 10:58:02 PM
It was muy painful for me to box up all those toys.
So if your collection is the right size, then technically with one more Wal-Mart run, it would be over-sized, right? :p
Just kidding. I know, a collection is never big enough.

I am behind Jedieb but ahead of you JMK I have 11
Padame (Arena Escape)
Obi-Wan (Coruscant Chase)
Kit Fisto
Boba Fett
Jango Fett (Kamino Escape)
Dexter Jettster
Royal Guard
Anakin Skywalker (Hanger Duel)
Yoda
Luminara Unduli
Mace Windu (the deluxe one)
and Slave One,
I think I have done a good start I have been getting about 3 a week, so I figure by the end of the Summer I will have them all, that is my plan at least, that is how I approached TPM's figures and I still missed some there though.
Jedieb, I am heading to TRU sometime this week, I haven't been able to get there the nearest one is across the river in GA and I just haven't had the chance to go over there in the last week, when I first went to TRU they had a poor selection I am hoping they have improved since then.

This is a list I threw together from looking at a scan of the Aussie poster. I've seen the name of the Bounty Hunter (#40), but I just can't remember it right now. I really like that they're numbering the figures with the year and then an individual numer on the back of the cards. I wish they'd done it from the start!

JMK
May 25th, 2002, 01:51:18 PM
Are they going to build the entire droid foundries as well?
Jedieb
May 25th, 2002, 02:39:01 PM
No, but now that you mention it, that would be an AWESOME playset. What I saw at SWCon2 was a two pack that had a small part of the conveyor belt, a crane (to simulate the one that smacked 3PO's head off I guess), and the two figures. It also looked as if the 3PO was a new sculpt of him with his new coverings on. It looks better than the first AOTC 3PO IMO.
JMK
May 25th, 2002, 04:02:35 PM
This is off topic, but it's not worth starting a thread in films for, but the entire sequence of Threepio getting knocked off the platform, then being hauled around by that building droid or whatever it was was totally unnecessary IMO. It's reminiscent of the underwater sequence from TPM. A "look what we can do sequence". I really don't think that 3P0 is that agile to hold on like that. But if talk too much about it, I'll have to split this thread to films. ;)

JMK--I love that sequence in the movie, and I look at it as being necessary comic relief. What Anakin and Padme are experiencing is down and dirty tense stuff, so having 3PO doing his thing gives you some momentary lightness. It's kinda like when he and R2 cross the hallway in the early part of ANH, totally missing being hit by stormtrooper blaster shots. I'm looking forward to this deluxe set of figures, I think that will be a fun one to have. :)
Now, to keep this thread on topic ;), the newest additions to my collection are the Bespin Luke figure, thanks to the fan club (the non-bloody version, though, so if I find a bloody one around town, he's mine!), and two calendars with lotsa nice pictures in them.

The Fan Club is selling a pack of 4 Hasbro Stormtroopers. They come in a plain white box labeled Stormtrooper Troop Builder Set. Two of the Stormies have blasters, two have rifles. It basically comes out to $5 a figure. I've got tons of Stormtroopers, but I kind of wanted to get these to see if they were any different than previous ones and to have at least one of the boxes. It's the pathetic completist in me.
The new Stormtroopers are basically the same as the last COMMTech Stormtrooper. I opened a COMMTech Stormtrooper and an old Freeze Frame Stormtrooper I had in my SW room just to compare them. The only difference between this new Fan Club troop builder is that they've removed the battle damage effect that was on the chest of the COMMTech Stormie. I even ran it under water just to make sure. Both of these last two Stormtroopers are vast improvements over the first buff POTF2 Stormie. No offense to buff, but you want your Stormtroopers to have MY slim build, not buff's hulking physique. ;)

As glad as I am to find this figure, I'm rather annoyed that some "good" semaritan bent the crap out of the card. There's no doubt someone did it on purpose. The card is severely bent in three different places. Because I'm an opener this makes little difference to me. But as an opener, I would never purposely bend cards because I know there are plenty of carded collectors out there that love their figures on cards and don't want to open them. Bending cards doesn't help anybody. It certainly doesn't stop scalping so I would really discourage anyone from doing this.
